Domiciliary Hostels

 
     
 

The Health and Social Services Department, Social Housing Division, of Norfolk and Haldimand Counties contract with service agents to provide supervised residential accommodation and food services for low income individuals who generally are unable to live on their own but who do not require nursing home care. 

Currently, the following operators provide domiciliary hostel accommodation -

  • Leisure Living, RR #1 Jarvis ON - 519-587-2208

  • Simcoe Residential Home, 323 Norfolk Street South, Simcoe ON - 519-428-9476

  • Fellowship Home, RR #2, 961 Diltz Road, Dunnville ON - 905-701-1234

  • Maple Lodge Retirement Home, 154 Maple Street, Simcoe ON - 519-426-4065

  • Cedarwood Gardens, 121 Colborne Street South, Simcoe ON - 519-428-9480

This valuable service provides short and long term accommodation to a small but vulnerable number of individuals within Haldimand and Norfolk Counties on a cost per diem basis.

Clients of this program have limited financial resources and are either in receipt of Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) funds.

The province of Ontario pays 80% of the funding for this program with the remaining 20% of the costs provided by the municipality.
