Compassion
Consolidated Verification Process
Consolidated
Verification Process ("CVP") supports the Ministry’s
and the Municipality’s overall effort to improve the social assistance
delivery system.
The Benefits Of
CVP
-
To
ensure that the
right amount of financial assistance is provided to you
-
To
ensure case reviews are
done the same way for everyone
-
To
update your
information
If your file is to be
reviewed, you will receive a phone call and/or letter to set up a date and
time for the interview. You will be given two weeks notice of the
interview date. The purpose of this interview is to check the information
in your file. During the interview, you will be asked to verify current
information and past information and/or provide further information or
documentation. Once your file has been reviewed, you will be advised if
there are changes to your financial assistance and/or eligibility.
There may be times when you disagree with decisions that are
made about your
social assistance. If this happens, you can
request an internal review.
Eligibility
Review This
program investigates the eligibility of present and past
participants. All high risk cases will be referred to the Eligibility Review
Officer for review and action. Upon completion of the investigation, decisions are made
regarding ongoing eligibility, overpayments or arrears and
may be referred to the police for legal action. Possible frauds may
be reported to our Hotline at 1-800-420-5403.
