Not only is Haldimand County and Norfolk County known for its beautiful beaches, fun and exciting festivals and fairs and of course our warm hearts and hospitality but we are also a community that cares for its residents. 

As part of the Health & Social Services Department, Ontario Works & Social Services Division focus is on preparing people in need within Haldimand County and Norfolk County for employment.

We are getting people the help they need to get on the road to financial independence, through referrals to basic education, training for new skills or updating existing skills, practical work experience, job placement and help with financial support.

One of the ways we help our participants is through our Employment Placement and Community Placement services. 

Our focus is also on the community. We work directly with local employers and non-profit agencies that provide our participants with the opportunity to gain the necessary skills to be financially independent. Our mandate is based on respect, understanding, and dignity of our participants, while, at the same time, being responsible and accountable to the taxpayers. We are continuing to improve our way of delivering services in an efficient and responsible manner.

Our participants have benefited from our existing partnerships with local employers and non-profit agencies. We strive to establish new partnerships with our community. Your support is a vital component in helping our participants on the road to financial independence.
