Employment
placement is a chance for you to get the help
you need to search for a job. With our help you can broaden your awareness
of the job market and gain job referrals. Job searching is your
responsibility but with our help we can market jobs with local employers
and assist you in applying for employment.
The
Employment Placement Program will use Ontario Works participants of
Haldimand and Norfolk Counties resumes (click
here to email us your resume) and skills for job matching. When a job
order is received from local employers, the Employment Placement Coordinator
will ensure the employer's needs are met. This may include human
resources supports such as screening Ontario Works participants,
scheduling interviews, providing Workplace Safety Insurance Benefits and
or training dollars.
Employment Placement with Incentive (“EPI”)
can
offer an employer financial incentive, human resources support and/or
Workplace Safety Insurance Benefits for the first six months of your
employment. This is a great reason for an employer to hire you. Ask your
Employment Case Manager for an EPI letter to tell possible new employers about these extra
bonuses that may be available if they hire you.
Please
be assured that when you accept employment the employer will respect your
confidentiality with all matters related to your involvement with the
Ontario Works program.
When
you gain employment you may be eligible for employment start up
monies.
This can help you purchase the necessary work clothing, work boots,
uniforms, etc. You may also be eligible for the NCBS Extended Health
Program for Families. This program is a continuation of prescription and
medical supply coverage during the first six months after you have
successfully gained employment. Please contact the NCBS
Representative to see if you qualify.
