Based
on your information, if you seem
eligible for assistance, you will be scheduled for an Intake Verification
Interview. The Intake Case Aide will also inform you which papers you
will need to bring with you to this interview. You will have a choice to
have your Intake Verification Interview scheduled at our Simcoe or
Dunnville locations.
Persons who are in crisis (eg. a victim of
violence), have a substantial language barrier or hearing impediment may
be immediately scheduled for an in-person interview at our office.
During this
in-person interview an Ontario Works' Financial Case Manager will review
and verify the information captured by the Intake Case Aide and by third
party checks. Your eligibility will be confirmed and the required forms
will be completed. Your Ontario Works' Employment Case Manager will
then develop a Participation Agreement that meets and supports your
employability needs. You will also be given information regarding
various programs and services available to you and discuss expected
employment activities. Your route may include job
searching, basic training, or acquiring relative
work experience. You will take an
active role in the development of your own route to financial
independence.
Every
person has the right to apply
for assistance and to have an application taken. While receiving
social assistance you will be responsible
for attending periodic interviews, reporting, participating, and following
the rules.
There may be times when you disagree with decisions that are
made about your
social assistance. If this happens, you can
request an internal review.
