We have developed many Life Skills Workshops to assist you on the road to employment. These sessions are held in Dunnville and Simcoe. Your transportation and child care costs may be covered while participating in these sessions. Please contact your Employment Case Manager regarding the following:

Cashier/Customer Service Training.  The purpose of the program is to build awareness of the importance of customer service and to get hands on practical experience operating a cash register.  For further information please click here.

Employability Skills Connection - The skills you need to enter, stay and advance on the job!  The employability skills connection is a series of 3 workshops for job seekers to gather insightful information on how to get, keep and advance on the job.  Employers are looking for an employee who has the necessary skills and qualifications for the job as well as the right attitudes and behaviours.  Based on the Employability Skills Profile, topics include communication, problem solving, decision-making, adaptability, self-esteem, goal setting, leadership and team work.  Understanding and applying these skills will help job seekers make the connection.  For further information please click here.

Developing an Employment Action Plan - Looking for work can be difficult.  You need a plan!  This series of four workshops is designed to assist participants in developing their own plan of action to find employment.  The series begin with understanding the new world of work.  Participants will identify barriers and discover ways to overcome them.  Participants will have a chance to look at the skills they have and those they need to improve upon as well as exploring areas they may not have considered. (ie: volunteering, apprenticeships, etc.) For further information please contact your Case Manager.

Successful Volunteer Workshops.  Volunteering has many benefits. The giving of your time to help people can develop and/or strengthen skills, increase self confidence and make new friends while contributing to society. Topics include working within a team environment, developing leadership skills, effective communication, understanding instructions, improving self esteem, dealing with conflict, and where to volunteer.  For further information please click here.

Discovery - Workshops Designed for Participants with Disabilities. - Discovery is a series of workshops designed for participants who are dealing with a disability, to give them a chance to "discover" opportunities they may not have considered.  Participants can join workshops at any time in their area.  For further information please click here.
