A stepping stone to employment

Community placements are an opportunity for our participants to become involved in their community while they learn basic work and life skills, get experience and make contacts for future employment. Mileage for transportation and the cost of child care while our participants are volunteering are available to them. Clothing and equipment needed for the volunteer position may also be covered.

The Task Force offers help to complete special projects and assists at local events throughout Haldimand County and Norfolk County. The Task Force has built a reputation of having a hard working team of people who are flexible, dependable and capable. Our participants will be supervised on site by our Volunteer Taskforce Coordinator. Criminal reference checks and pre-screening for suitability will be completed before placement is arranged.  We will provide our participants with transportation, proper clothing and safety training.  Our Task Force has volunteered at the Caledonia Fair, Dunnville Fair, Bayfest, Backus Mill, Long Point Conservation Authority, Panorama, plus many more events throughout Haldimand and Norfolk Counties.

We can help you with your volunteer needs.

Our Community Placement Coordinator will meet with you to find out your volunteer requirements, such as skills, abilities and training needs. We will then assess, pre-screen and refer candidates that meet your requirements.  If a criminal reference check is required by your agency this can be done at no cost to you. Our volunteers are capable and motivated and want to make a contribution.  You interview them and make your choice.

If you decide to offer a volunteer position to one of our participants we will follow up with monthly monitoring and support.  Community Placement may not displace any paid employment position that has existed within the last two years.
